Jeff Bridges
Return to Exhibitions
Cinema has since its inception gleefully confounded distinctions between charade and disclosure, entertainment and exposition, entertainment and art. The filmic spectrum, from documentary to mannerism to blockbuster, has played muse, polemic, substrate and villain to its artistic cousins. Raised amidst Hollywood's mimetic guile, a celebrity, distinguished actor and accomplished photographer, Jeff Bridges is uniquely positioned to conflate two of his gifts in this continuing artistic colloquy. His panoramic photographs of sets and contemporaries are candid and unlikely. He exposes the cogs inside the cinematic behemoth, and at the same time venerates them: as with any great talent, he both sates and whets our appetite.
